Introduction. Providing care to the child and adolescent athlete brings unique ethical dilemmas. When facing these issues, the sports clinician needs to consider a wide range of factors such as autonomy, informed consent, competency and the maturity of the young athlete, as well as the involvement of other stakeholders such as parents and coaches.
